I studied violin at the University of Nebraska - Lincoln and received my Bachelor\'s in Music Performance. I play with the Symphony of the Southwest currently celebrating its 50th season of performance and Musica Nova, a professional symphony performing new and neglected music from the 19th century to present. I also play regularly in weddings and church services here in the east valley including the All-Saints Newman Center and Queen of Peace Catholic Church.
I began violin at the age of 11 and participated in the Nebraska All-State Select Orchestra all three years of high school. In my last year as an All-State orchestra member, I sat principal second violin of the orchestra. During that time, I also played with the Hastings Symphony Orchestra performing new and standard classics of the orchestral repertoire.
I received a music scholarship from the University of Nebraska - Lincoln and while there I spent four years teaching private and group violin lessons with the nationally recognized UNL String Project. I have taught private violin lessons for the past 7 years this being my second year in the valley, and in addition to my private studio I have taught after-school group violin classes at several different elementary schools and am subcontracted by Tempe High School to supplement their orchestra program offering private lessons to individual students.
My background is not limited to strictly classical music. I also play in bluegrass groups, rock bands, jazz duos, and sit in regularly with various groups and artists such as Rebecca Clarke, Mary Hoffman, Verse Seven, Mackenzie Road, Bobby Cook\'s Jamioke, and a Boy Named Sioux. I am noted as being a versatile musician, an improviser, a diligent teacher, and innovative in performance and instruction.
