Teaching over 36 years, DREW LECHER has published two books in 2007 –– "Violin Technique: the Manual" & "Viola Technique: the Manual." Each is a synopsis on how to master the respective instrument.

Anyone seeking confirmation of Drew Lecher’s exceptional abilities as a violinist and teacher need look no further. Teaching since the age of 19, he was appointed –– at age 24 –– Professor of Violin, and later Viola, at the Guildhall School of Music & Drama, London. He further honed his teaching skills working with gifted children as Specialist Instructor of Violin, Viola & Chamber Music at the Wells Cathedral School in Somerset, England, and on the faculty of the City of London’s Pimlico School.

Two honors were recently given. Most singularly, that of a Stradivarius violin, c.1721, being named after him in the Doring book, "How Many Strads" (rev’d. ed.), and secondly, being listed in 2005-06 National Register's "Who's Who" in Executives and Professionals.

Presently residing in Naperville, Illinois with his wife, Victoria VerHoven, soprano –– and 3 standard poodles –– he is a prominent teacher of Violin, Viola & Chamber Music. His students have been accepted by The Juilliard School, Indiana University-Bloomington, Cleveland Institute of Music, Eastman School of Music, Oberlin Conservatory and Peabody Conservatory among others.

Drew Lecher studied with Ivan Galamian at the Meadowmount School, Yfrah Neaman at the GSM&D and with Pierre Nerini of the Paris Conservatoire and Yfrah Neaman at the Académie d'été-Nice, France. He was Specialist Instructor of Violin, Viola & Chamber Music at the Wells Cathedral School's Program for Gifted Children in Wells, Somerset and on the faculty of the City of London’s Pimlico School. He also was former Concertmaster of the Atlantic Symphony Orchestra in Halifax, Nova Scotia, Canada.

Born in Milwaukee, Wisconsin and attending University there, he studied with Leonard Sorkin and the world renowned Fine Arts Quartet –– performing as guest with them and assisting in their teaching/coaching. Drew founded the University String Quartet and freelanced professionally from age of 19 –– including Concertmaster for the Milwaukee Ballet, Opera, Light Opera and Musical Theater orchestras and the city's Music Under The Stars Summer Symphony. His first teacher was Raymond Brown.

Drew Lecher accepts students of all levels on violin and viola –– beginning to professional.
