My name is Liz and I have graduated with a music education degree from Missouri State here in Springfield, MO.
I teach beginning-intermediate violin, and all pre-collegiate academic levels of viola. My studio gives two recitals each year, and all students are encouraged to play! For the middle and high school students, I encourage participation in the Festival each spring but do not require it.
I teach using the Family String Method Books for the younger students.(www.familystringmethod.com) For older or more experienced students, I will choose appropriate method books. I believe in catering the method to fit the needs of each individual student, based on their learning styles.
I accept students as young as 4 years old, with a qualifying interview. This means I need to speak with the parent and the student and determine whether or not the child is ready to begin lessons. Don\'t worry, there\'s no \"test\" to pass! Any students that are in kindergarten or older are welcome to sign up for lessons.
A note for prospective adult students: No, you are NOT too old to learn! :)
