Jesús Eduardo Florido has established himself as a very versatile teacher/performer. His classical violin training includes studying with Lawrence Shapiro, Margareth Pardee, Josheph Gingold and Davis Brooks, and he has played in Masterclasses for Yo-Yo Ma, Itzhak Perlman, Pinchas Zuckerman and Dorothy DeLay. In the meantime, he also has studied Afro-Cuban, Jazz, Rock, and Fiddle music, which give him a very global view of what music interpretation should be.
Sharing his music through teaching is an essential part of his life. As a founding member of the National System of Youth and Children Orchestras in his native Venezuela he started teaching very young as they do in that program. He has taught in Brazil, Spain, Canada, Germany, Italy, Austria, France, Belgium, Singapore, Vietnam, Jordan Spain and the U.S.
“Music has to be part of every child’s life development anywhere the world,” he states.
American violinist/fiddler Mark O’Connor recognized him when he invited him to teach at his camps in Nashville and San Diego, since 1999 to the present time. He has appeared on CBS Sunday Morning as part of Mr. O’Connor’s line-up of artist/faculty.
He is a sought after string clinician around the world too. Based between Los Angeles and Vienna he travels all over the world sharing his music in any way he can.
He is also an active member of ASTA, MENC, NARAS, and BMI.
