As a multi-faceted violinist, songwriter, arranger, and pianist, my life focus has always been music, from my beginnings as a little girl in the church choir, to performing in my first orchestra at age eleven. Later I received formal training at the Cleveland Institute Of Music. Now, a professional violinist and teacher, I've been asked to record for the Fox News Channel, Toyota's television commercial, and Jack Van Impe Presents. I'm a member of the Scandinavian String Quartet, founder of the Oakland Academy Of Music, and have also worked in the development of music programs for children in Livonia and Royal Oak Schools. "Music is therapy for me, and I'm grateful to be able to share my experience with my students."
TEACHING EXPERIENCE: Oakland Academy Of Music,
Ward School Of Sacred Arts,
Suzuki Royal Oak Institute Of Music.
PRIVATE VIOLIN LESSONS: I'm a patient teacher - encouraging, and quick to recognize talent and potential. Assignments are given according to students abilities, while emphasizing technique, tonal development, intonation and rhythm. Traditional or modified Suzuki method available: allowing students to read music their very first year! I try to make learning fun and non-threatening and I'm especially good with children. I'm not intimidating; I don't believe in bringing a student to tears during a lesson.
TEACHER'S MAIN OBJECTIVE: My heart's goal is to bring out the full potential in each student. My desire is to train students to excel in their God-given talents by equipping them with the tools they need to embrace a life-long passion for Music. It would be my privilege to teach anyone that's willing to set aside consistent practice time.
AGES 3-103: For some people, to play the violin has been a life long dream! Anyone can learn to play, regardless of age. Have fun exploring your instrument, hearing the changes, and finding out all that you can be. Music is a wonderful tool of enjoyment and discovery.
