My studio, established in 2000, provides private and group instruction in violin, viola and "beginning" cello. I also teach the many styles of fiddle, usually in a one on one lesson during which I will also teach classical technique. I've been involved with learning, teaching and performing music all of my life. As for the age range I work with, it is wide and stretches from 4 years old to a 94 years old. I truly feel that musical ability and skill is something which is not limitted or defined by age, sex or IQ. I have taught students with disibilities. I use Suzuki repetoire and philosophy with nearly every student, and of course I will tailor lessons to the needs of the individual adding exercises or solo material as needed! I also work with all levels of students from beginners - advanced, including those who wish to grow in their professional playing.
Before enrolling a new student, we meet for a consultation where I can find out more about each student's background and what they want, need and hope to accomplish through our lessons. I will also outline studio policies and contract. I am currently offering a free first lesson, to take place after the consultation. This is a new offer from the studio. So, the consultation will be scheduled for 30 minutes, and the first lesson will also be scheduled for 30 minutes. When you enroll for your first 3 month period, the lesson will be creditted to you.
