Nicole McKenzie has been teaching violin lessons since 1996. Her teaching style includes influences from Suzuki, Rolland, Gingold, Dounis, and Galamian.
Opportunities for students include weekly private lessons, weekly studio class (informal performance, ear training, theory, ensemble playing), recitals, Certificate of Merit, and more. Accepting students age 4-19.
Ms. McKenzie received her Bachelor of Music degree from the Oberlin College Conservatory of Music, and her Master of Music degree from the Florida State University. She has also attended numerous programs, including the Music Academy of the West, and Interlochen Arts Camp and Academy. She has studied violin pedagogy with Mimi Zweig and Darcy Drexler. Her professional associations include the American String Teacher Association, and the Music Teacher Association of California. In addition to her teaching duties, Ms. McKenzie performs regularly as a soloist and chamber musician, and teaches at Sandcastle Music Together.
