Thanks for your interest in my studio!
My name is Karen Donato. I've been teaching violin and viola to students of all ages and proficiency levels since 1999. In my lessons, I combine a selection of Suzuki repertoire with traditional theory and rhythmic studies. My studio is located at my home in Canton. In addition, I am on the faculty of the Flint School of Performing Arts.
I have a master's in violin performance from the University of Michigan, where I studied with Andrew Jennings and Stephen Shipps. I am a contract member of the Ann Arbor, Flint, and Saginaw Bay Symphonies; and I also play with Kalamazoo and Lansing Symphonies on a substitute basis.
